About Qayyim
About Qayyim
Qayyim (Arabic قيّم) is an open-source project building the Qayyim protocol and ecosystem.
Qayyim was formerly known as TrustCoin / TrustChain.
Mission
To build a decentralized economy where reputation matters more than capital.
The Problem
Traditional blockchains use consensus mechanisms that favor those with resources:
- Proof of Work: Requires expensive hardware and energy
- Proof of Stake: Favors the wealthy (plutocracy)
Both systems allow bad actors to participate as long as they have resources. Neither incentivizes good behavior.
Our Solution
Proof of Trust selects validators based on accumulated trust scores derived from:
- Transaction history and success rate
- Community vouches from trusted members
- Dispute outcomes and resolution behavior
- Time in the network with consistent good behavior
Trust can’t be transferred or traded. It is earned through on-chain history.
Tokenomics
| Property | Value |
|---|---|
| Symbol | QYM |
| Max Supply | 21 million QYM |
| Block Reward | 2 QYM (halving every ~4 years) |
| Distribution | 80% validators, 10% participation, 5% foundation, 5% burn |
The deflationary model ensures long-term value while the distribution incentivizes active, trustworthy participation.
Trust Tiers
| Tier | Score | Capabilities |
|---|---|---|
| New User | 10% | Basic transactions |
| Trusted | 50%+ | Vouch for others, publish dApps |
| Validator | 70%+ | Participate in consensus |
| Elite | 90%+ | Maximum transaction limits |
